Hydroxy apatite (HA) as the main mineral of teeth and bones is widely used for bone treatment in dental and orthopedic implants. This material is used for bone grafting, covering metal implants and making bone cement. Its production by chemical method has a high cost and failure to strictly follow the stoichiometry will lead to the production of a product with high impurities, so the best source for extracting and synthesizing hydroxyapatite is animal, therefore, in the current research, nanostructured hydroxyapatite powder using thermal processes It is synthesized at several different temperatures in an atmospheric furnace. The obtained product is mechanically milled at different times, and then the chemical and physical characterization of nanostructured hydroxyapatite powders is performed by means of XRD, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and particle size analyzer (PSA) system.
