Super Oxide

For humans to survive in confined spaces for a specific duration, they require tools that can address their basic needs. This necessity arises, for example, during underwater expeditions or space missions. During respiration, oxygen in the enclosed environment is consumed, resulting in the production of carbon dioxide and moisture. Potassium superoxide plays a crucial role in generating oxygen in air recovery devices and confined atmospheres like submarines and spacecraft. These compounds can be stored in solid form within air recovery devices. Potassium superoxide generates oxygen and hydroxide by absorbing moisture from the air; the resulting hydroxide effectively absorbs carbon dioxide gas.
